Illustration inspiration: It’s all in the inked details

31 Mar

petite street - Illustration inspirationThis long weekend isn’t allowing much time for play, I spent the day planning and drawing little bits and bobs for upcoming posts.

But that’s not all I’ve been doing, in between many drafts and sketches, there’s always time to squeeze in a little online shopping. When you use research as an excuse it makes everything better (except your account balance).

petite street is about the celebration of the little things in life – that’s why I always pay attention to the intricate details. This week – probably since my pencil and felt-tip have been permanently attached to my hand – I’ve been particularly drawn to carefully illustrated prints.

Here are the pieces that have inspired me:

1. Ryder by Arabella Ramsay Crustacean Fitted Dress – Ryder by Arabella Ramsay

2.  Kenzo Tiger Jungle iPad case – Matches

3. The Nightgale and the Rose, illustrated by Del Kathryn Barton – Art Gallery of NSW

4. Carven Paris print skirt – Matches

Do it! The crustacean print is available in three different styles – two dresses and leggings. They’re all rad.

Leave some petite love
